Accessibility Statement

Debt Clear Pro is meant to work for everyone, however they see, hear, move or think, and whichever technology they use. Here you'll find what we do, the standards we're aiming for and who to contact when something gets in your way.

Section 1: Designed for everyone

Nobody should be shut out of a look at their loan options by a barrier of any kind, including a digital one. We want every visitor to get full use of Debt Clear Pro, whatever their abilities, their assistive technology or the way they browse.

Where we fall short, we want to hear about it. Section 6 tells you how.

Section 2: The standards we follow

Our target is Level AA of WCAG 2.1, the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines issued by the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium). The guidelines are built on four principles, often remembered as POUR:

Perceivable

Information is presented in ways every visitor can take in, such as text alternatives for images and enough contrast between text and its background.

Operable

Each control and each route through the site can be operated by keyboard, by voice or through another input device.

Understandable

Text reads clearly, and the interface behaves in consistent, predictable ways.

Robust

Standard markup keeps content working with today's assistive technologies and gives it the best chance of working with tomorrow's.

We check the site against these guidelines with automated testing tools and by hand, covering keyboard use, zoom and color contrast, and we act on what turns up. We aim to repeat those checks whenever the site changes.

Section 3: What's built into this site

These features are there to support a range of needs and preferences:

Meaningful structureHeadings follow a logical order, pages have clear landmark regions, and link text describes where it leads.
Keyboard accessEverything works without a mouse, focus is always visible, and the form window keeps focus inside it and closes with the Escape key.
Text alternativesImages that carry information have descriptive alternative text, and purely decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers.
Readable contrastText and controls are meant to satisfy the WCAG AA contrast ratios, and we measure them as part of our checks.
Zoom and reflowPages can be zoomed to 400%, the equivalent of a 320-pixel-wide window, and reflow into one column without sideways scrolling.
Skip links and calmer motionKeyboard users can leap past the header with a skip link, and animation is turned off for visitors whose device requests reduced motion.

Section 4: Known gaps and ongoing work

Our goal is Level AA everywhere on the site, though some parts may fall short today. These are the gaps we know of:

  • The request form is an embedded component from a third-party platform, so parts of its accessibility are outside our direct control. If you can't complete it, call (844) 550-1428 or email [email protected] and we'll work with you to find another way to reach a lender
  • Links may lead to lenders and other outside websites that we don't run, and the accessibility of those pages is the responsibility of their owners
  • We review changes with care, yet a barrier can slip through when pages are added or updated

Spotted something we haven't listed? Tell us. Every report is added to our list of improvements.

Section 5: Assistive technology and browsers

We build with the following in mind. We haven't tested every combination of browser and assistive technology, so please tell us if something doesn't work for you.

  • Screen readersStandard markup, labeled controls and a logical reading order, with NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver on macOS and iOS, and TalkBack on Android in mind
  • Keyboard onlyAll features can be reached from the keyboard alone, whether standard or extended
  • Voice controlButtons and links show text labels that match their accessible names, which suits Apple Voice Control and Dragon NaturallySpeaking
  • Zoom and reflowZooming the page as far as 400% leaves content in a single, readable column on phones, tablets and computers
  • High contrastButtons and cards keep visible outlines in Windows high-contrast themes

You'll get the best results from an up-to-date copy of Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge.

Section 6: Tell us what isn't working

If a page, a control or a piece of content is hard to reach or use, call (844) 550-1428 or write to [email protected]. We'll look into it as promptly as we reasonably can and, where we can, arrange a sensible accommodation or an accessible alternative.

It helps if you can tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you use. Our full contact details follow just below.
